We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you, our wonderful customers, for your continued patience and support over what have been an exceptionally difficult time.

From September 2nd we have revised COVID restrictions.

Face Coverings:

We encourage and support customers to wear masks around the centre but it is not compulsory anymore to wear them.

The reception team will not obliged to wear a mask anymore but the screen will still be in place around the reception area.

Coaches will still have to wear masks on coached sessions as well as groups with participants aged 9 and above

Centre capacities:

With the removal of the very specific capacities from government guidance we will be cautiously increasing our centre capacities by 10%

The Climbing Works – 105 to 116 (sign out still required)

The Mini Works – 45 to 50 (slot bookings)

Unit E – 45 to 50

Social distancing:

The government guidance from 19th July means that there are no legal limits on indoor group size, but we still strongly encourage you to socially distance (2m where possible!) from people you don’t have frequent contact with anyway.

It is important that you continue to respect the space of anyone you have not mutually agreed that you are happy to be closer to or do not know.

We will continue to manage these risks and monitor them closely. In the event of significant new evidence and government announcements we will revise these new policies and not hesitate to put restrictions back in place.

FAQ

Can 13 – 16 year olds only climb when it’s Youth Group?

As a Junior Member you can climb at anytime in the centre. If you are not a Junior Member you can only climb outside of the Youth Group if you are supervised by an adult member or by one of our coaches.

Does a parent or guardian need to sign me in?

If you are not a junior member then a parent or guardian will need to sign you in. They do not need to stay for the duration of the session.

If you are completing an induction or assessment a parent will need to attend at the start to fill out forms and ask any questions.

Once you are a junior member a parent or guardian does not need to be there to sign you in.

How do I become a Junior Member?

To become a Junior Member you have to be 14 years of over. If you already have a lot of climbing experience from using another climbing centre or from climbing at The Climbing Works as part of kids clubs, or with parents then all you need to do is complete a Junior Assessment with one of our coaches. These can be completed during the Youth Group sessions or by arranging a 10 min assessment with a coach. To arrange an assessment please ask or call reception for availability.

If you do not have the required climbing experience then you will need to complete a Junior Induction. These run on Monday evenings 7.30pm - 9.00pm and Sunday mornings 10.30am - 12.00pm. You can book these at the Main reception by calling 0114 250 9990. Junior Inductions cost £15.

If you have any further questions please contact reception on 0114 250 9990 or email info@climbingworks.com
