Family and Friends
Bouldering is an activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family, check out the information below to find out which session best suits your families needs. All costs include equipment hire.

Family Taster session
For those with little or no climbing experience who would like to have a climbing experience with family and friends.
Please note this is just a climbing experience and does not allow you to use the centre without supervision at any other time.
Time: Book 1.5 hour session to suit your group
Min: 3 climbers Max: 6 climbers
Min age: 7 years
Cost: £50 per group of 3 - 6 climbers
Family Induction Session
For those with little or no climbing experience who would like to come climbing on a regular basis. The course consists of one and a half hours tuition with one of our qualified instructors, and focuses on how to use the climbing walls safely. This course is obligatory if you would like to use The Climbing Works but have never climbed before. Once you have completed this session, you are free to use the centre whenever you like unsupervised.
Please note that only 14 year olds and over will be able to become members and climb unsupervised, if you have children who are under 14 and still want an induction please call reception for more details.

Cost: 14-17 years £15p/p / Adults £20p/p (includes registration fee)

Toddler Session
The Climbing Works does not run instructed sessions for children aged 6 or under. However we do have the facilities to cater for this age group on the children’s boulders. If you would like your child to climb you will need to supervise them. Cost: £4.00 for each child climbing
To supervise your children (maximum of 2 at any one time) you will need to become a member of The Climbing Works. If you are an experienced climber and have used indoor bouldering walls before you can sign up today. Ask at reception for a registration form. Cost: £3.00
If you are not an experienced climber you will need to complete and Adult Induction course before you can supervise.
Parent and toddler afternoon
Every Thursday between 12.00pm – 3.00pm (last entry by 2.00pm, all climbing finished by 3.00pm)
Members only, parents and toddlers can climb at our special rates;
Parent climbing: £2.50
Children <4: £2 per child
Children 4-7 years: £3 per child
This is not an instructed session, nor is there a babysitter to look after your children. Parents must be supervising their children at all times.
